The history of the leather manufactory is intertwined with the traditional saddlery craft, and therein lie the roots of Braun Büffel. The lovingly crafted leather goods are now synonymous worldwide with the highest precision and quality. Founded in 1887, the leather manufactory continues to train leatherworkers, quilters, and other skilled leather processing professionals.

The traditional company, based in the small town of Kirn in the heart of Rhineland-Palatinate, is very proud of its craftsmanship. Here, collections "Made in Germany" are designed and produced with meticulous handwork.
Maintaining leather goods production in Germany is the core of Braun Büffel's corporate philosophy and a personal concern of the fourth-generation family owner.

Whether as a gift or for yourself, embossing is always a real highlight. Our skilled leather craftsmen personalize the leather products of your choice. You can choose between gold, silver, or blind embossing.

The handcrafted charm of the Kirn production facility is noticeable as soon as you enter the premises – the scent of leather fills the air. Watching the skilled craftsmen at work is impressive. Consumers today often forget how much time and care goes into handcrafted production.
The work process is multifaceted: from selecting the raw leather goods and choosing the seams, to punching, stitching, and embossing. The surprising reactions of our visitors have inspired us to open the doors of our workshop to you.
We would like to share with you the knowledge of craftsmanship and the experience of being able to make a leather product yourself once in a lifetime.
HOW DOES A WORKSHOP WORK?
The workshops are always held in small groups of up to 8 people. You'll sit at a table together with one of our leather craftsmen. At the beginning, you'll receive a brief introduction to leather as a material and the basic production steps. You can then choose which leather accessory you'd like to make. The selection usually includes a glasses case, a card holder, various sizes of phone cases, and keychains. Here's how it works step by step with your personal leather creation:
Choose from a wide selection of different leathers.Each accessory comes with a template that you will need to punch the holes.
Now, using a hammer and a hole punch, knock out all the holes in the template.
Next, choose a waxed seam in your desired color.
The stitching is now done with the needle.
Depending on the accessory, a snap fastener or key ring is attached.
Finally, personalization in the form of silver, gold, or blind embossing is applied, depending on the customer's wishes.
And there you have it – your very own leather accessory!
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE IN A WORKSHOP?
The workshops are offered at various locations throughout the year. You can register for them by email.
Participation in some workshops is free and includes the production of a leather accessory! Additional products can be made for an extra charge. A participation fee applies to some workshops.
