Solar energy into the future
Our commitment to climate protection and the energy transition is of great importance. As a company, it is our responsibility to take measures to reduce CO2 emissions and switch to renewable energies.
For this reason, we decided to rely on solar energy at our BRAUN BÜFFEL leather manufactory at our company headquarters in Kirn. The photovoltaic system, which we have been using in our manufactory since 2013, is an important component of our sustainability strategy.
By using solar energy, we already cover a remarkable 80% of the energy consumption of our factory and offices. It is particularly important to us that we not only make our operations more environmentally friendly, but also save costs.

Leather is undoubtedly one of the world's finest materials, representing timeless elegance, durability, and unparalleled quality. Its exceptional resilience and resistance to wear and tear and the elements make it one of the few materials that, with proper care, can last for many years.
But leather is not only a durable material, it's also a resource-saving option. This high-quality natural material is generally obtained from byproducts of meat production. Through the further processing of the hide, a new, meaningful, and long-lasting product is created from what would otherwise be waste.
The value chain of leather thus extends far beyond the actual production and creates sustainable added value.

BRAUN BÜFFEL places great emphasis on an environmentally friendly value chain and has set itself the ambitious goal of reducing waste to an absolute minimum.
In line with this mission, we pursue an innovative approach to processing leather scraps that would otherwise be considered unusable. Our team creatively transforms these leather scraps, giving them new uses as unique keychains, beautiful Christmas ornaments, or stylish bracelets. Through this effective use of leather scraps, we not only minimize actual waste but also contribute to reducing our company's environmental footprint.
